These terms are the agreement between you and Pocket AV Inc. ("we", "us") for the Sonarchy app and website. By using Sonarchy, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.
What Sonarchy is
Sonarchy is an app for finding and playing internet radio stations and podcasts. The station directory comes from the community-maintained Radio Browser database, and podcasts come from their publishers' public feeds. We do not own, produce, or control the audio you listen to — broadcasters and podcast publishers do. Streams can change, move, or disappear without notice, and we can't guarantee any particular station or episode will be available.
Your account
You can browse and listen without an account. Signing in is optional and enables cross-device features such as saved stations, podcast subscriptions, and recordings. You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure, and for the activity that happens under it.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app — see how to delete your account. Deleting is permanent.
Sonarchy Plus and billing
Sonarchy has a free tier and a paid subscription, Sonarchy Plus. Where we bill you directly through our website, payments are processed by our payment provider; where you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store handles billing and its terms and refund policies apply, not ours.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancel any time — through the link in your receipt, your account settings, or your app store's subscription settings, depending on where you subscribed.
- Cancelling stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund the current term.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Cancel that in your store settings.
- We may change prices or what each tier includes. We'll give reasonable advance notice of changes that affect an active subscription.
Recordings
Sonarchy can record a stream you are listening to, for your own personal time-shifted listening. Recordings are private to your account — there is no sharing or publishing feature. You are responsible for using recordings in a way that's lawful where you live; recording does not give you any rights in the underlying content, and you may not redistribute, broadcast, or sell what you record.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use Sonarchy to rebroadcast, resell, or publicly perform content you don't have rights to.
- Work around plan limits, quotas, or access controls — including by creating multiple accounts to do so.
- Scrape, hammer, or automate the service in ways that degrade it for others, or use it as general-purpose bandwidth or storage.
- Break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to breach the security of the service.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that do these things, and we may impose reasonable technical limits to keep the service healthy for everyone.
Content complaints
We don't host the station and podcast audio that Sonarchy plays. If you believe content reachable through the app infringes your rights, email support@sonarchy.io with the details and we will look into it, including removing a listing from our directory where appropriate.
Our stuff
The Sonarchy app, website, name, and logo belong to us. These terms don't give you rights to our branding. Open-source components included in the app remain under their own licenses.
Service changes and termination
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may stop offering the service. You can stop using Sonarchy at any time, and delete your account from the app. If we terminate your account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, we may do so without refund.
Disclaimers
Sonarchy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any station, podcast, or recording will remain available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pocket AV Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, revenue, or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above, and for material changes we'll give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Sonarchy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Maryland will be the venue for disputes — except that either of us may bring a claim in small-claims court.
